Number of the Birth Path

The birth path number, which indicates your entire life route and place in the world, is calculated using your whole birth date. It is simple to compute. Simply sum up the digits of your birth date and keep “reducing” (as shown in the example) to a single digit.

For example, if your birthday is April 28, 1968, write it down as follows:

The birth month is April, which is the fourth month of the year = 4

The birth date is 28 = 28

1968 is the birth year.

Add the digits of all of these numerals together:

4+2+8+1+9+6+8 = 38

By adding its digits, you can further “reduce” this number to a single digit:

3+8 Equals 11

And then, if necessary, further lower it:

1+1 Equals 2

The last digit, 2, represents the Birth Path Number!

Number Name

Use a person’s birth name to calculate the Name Number (also known as the Expression Number), which reflects the entire personality. To calculate the name number, locate the number in the chart below that corresponds to each letter in the name, add the numbers, and then “reduce” the final number to a single digit, as you did with the birth path number above.

As an example, consider the following birth name: Mary Lynn Smith.

In the chart above, locate each letter and its matching numeric, and then add these digits together:

4+1+9+7+3+7+5+5+1+4+9+2+8 = 65

Reduce by adding the digits of the amount together, and then further reduce to a single digit if necessary:

65 = 6+5 = 11

11 = 1+1 = 2

The Name Number in this example is 2, signifying the personality type.
